We designed the Gain to enhance your rides, not dominate them. The Enough Power concept has resulted in an exceptionally light, sporty and manoeuvrable bike: a machine that answers the call of the road.
Every drop of sweat, every pedal stroke, fires up the Gain, helping you rack up the miles. Its seamlessly integrated interfaces are modern and intuitive. The bike is designed to enhance your experience, we've minimised distractions so it's just you, Gain, and the hours of road ahead of you.
The Gain's engine is the heart of the bike and the key component of the Enough Energy concept. Its sophisticated drive system provides smooth, balanced and reliable pedal assistance at levels that allow you to improve your rides without making it too easy.
And because the motor is located in the wheel axle rather than in the bottom bracket, you'll enjoy resistance-free pedalling when it's not providing assistance. The Gain's torque simulation algorithm allows the bike to match power input per pedal stroke to generate more power when needed and conserve energy when you're riding easy.
The ICR system is designed to guarantee the best internal cable routing. They are inserted under the stem and through the head tube. No friction or vibrations, and optimised for mechanical and electronic shifting systems.
The entire Orbea road bike range offers this solution. The entire Orbea road line incorporates the OC solution, whose integrated stems and cable covers give our bikes an unblemished look.
The seat post clamp is perfectly integrated into the frame, which reduces the likelihood of contamination and increases aerodynamics. It is also aesthetically appealing.
INTERNAL BATTERY
The battery is one of the most conspicuous components on an electric bike, so we've gone to great lengths to find the lightest, smallest and most discreet unit on the market. Thanks to the Enough Energy concept, the Gain will give you just the right level of pedalling assistance you need, never more than you need. With it, we've done away with bulky, heavy, high-capacity batteries that need to be removed from the bike after every ride.
The Gain's control centre consists of an elegant and discreet button on the top tube and a bike computer attached to the stem. Thanks to the simple iWoc ONE interface, you can turn the system on or off, check the assistance level and display the remaining battery charge. LED indicators in different colours allow you to see all the information you need at a glance.
The Gain's smooth and balanced pedal assistance would not be possible without an advanced sensor. In order to design an elegant and unobtrusive system, we replaced the cassette lock with a PAS sensor that monitors the power input per pedal stroke, adapting the power accordingly.
