The Traverse SL II offers lightweight performance that’s perfect for riders who want to climb fast and descend with control. It features four key innovations. First, the optimized front and rear rim designs increase strength by 15% and 25%, respectively. Second, the shallow rim geometry increases vertical compliance by 21% for better impact absorption. Third, the “ankling” design improves traction, stability, and control. Finally, the FlatStop rim bead requires 85% more force to compress.

Our carbon rims are specific to each wheel. Compared to previous Traverse SL rims, they are 15% stronger in the front and 25% in the rear. The result? You can go faster and ride as aggressively as you want.

That’s why we designed the Traverse SL II i9 optimizing torsional and lateral stiffness in both the rim and the complete wheel system. The result: a wheel with 21% more lateral compliance than the previous model. Its low profile and rim-specific layup improve ride quality, offering unmatched control and comfort over any terrain.

FlatStop requires 85% more force to cause a pinch flat, virtually eliminating them. No one likes getting stranded mid-ride with a flat. That’s why the Traverse SL II features our 5mm FlatStop bead (patent pending in the US). Compared to traditional beads, it takes 85% more force to cause a pinch flat, meaning they’re almost completely eliminated.

*Roval ThreadBed Valve*

Makes tire mounting easier and eliminates nuts, air leaks from flex, and sealant clogs. Thank our engineer Chuck Teixeira for inventing the Roval ThreadBed valve. It threads directly into the rim, so no nut is needed. Plus, it prevents flex leaks, simplifies tire mounting, and reduces sealant clogging.
