Assembly Service

New Bikes

What does the assembly service consist of?

When purchasing a new bike, it is crucial to ensure that all components are correctly fitted and adjusted to ensure a safe and optimal riding experience. Our new bike fitting service focuses on several key aspects to deliver the best quality and performance. Below, we describe the steps and checks we carry out:

Quality Control at Bicycle Unpacking

The first step in the assembly process is the unpacking quality control. During this stage, we carefully inspect the bike for any bumps or scratches that may have occurred during transport. This thorough inspection ensures that the bike is in perfect condition before proceeding with assembly.

Derailleur Group Adjustment

Once the bike has passed the initial quality check, we proceed to adjust the derailleur group. We check and adjust the derailleur hanger to make sure it is tight and aligned properly. This is crucial to ensure smooth and precise shifting, which significantly improves the riding experience.

Brake Adjustment

Safety is a priority, which is why we focus on brake adjustment. We check and adjust brake pads and shoes to ensure proper contact with the rims or discs. In addition, we centre the discs and ensure that the brake calipers are properly anchored and centred. This process ensures efficient and safe braking performance.

Component Torque Check

To ensure the structural integrity of the bike, we check the tightness of various components such as cranks, wheels, swingarm, suspension, mudguards and grills. This step is essential to ensure that all components are securely fastened and that the bike is ready to withstand daily use.

Steering Adjustment

Steering adjustment is another vital aspect of assembly. We ensure that the steering system is correctly adjusted to allow for smooth and precise handling. This includes checking steering tightness and adjusting bearings as necessary to avoid play or excessive resistance.

Packaging Quality Control

Finally, once the bike has been fully assembled and adjusted, we perform a final quality check of the packaging. We ensure that the bike is correctly packed and protected for delivery, minimising the risk of damage during transport.

Do I have to do any assembly when I receive my bike?

To ensure safe transport and to avoid damage during shipping, we have taken the following measures:

Handlebars not straightened:

The handlebars have been left unstraightened to make it easier to adjust them to your size once you receive the bike.

Saddle and pedals removed:

Both the saddle and pedals (if included in your order) have been removed for the same reason.

Front wheel removed:

The front wheel has been removed to reduce the volume of the package and minimise the risk of damage.
The rest of the bike is fully assembled, as selected in your order, although a final check is required.

In addition, we have carefully protected all components with special packaging to ensure they arrive in perfect condition.

You will find detailed instructions on how to finish assembling and adjusting loose components in the user manual included with your bike. You can also download the user manual from the manufacturer's official website. If you have any questions or need help during the process, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Important:

IBK cannot be held responsible for any damage that may occur due to incorrect completion of assembly of the bike. If you have no mechanical knowledge, we recommend that you go to an official specialist shop to complete the assembly.

We are excited that you will soon be able to enjoy your new bike!
