There’s nothing faster than the Tarmac SL8. Why? Because it achieves the ultimate combination of aerodynamics, light weight, and ride quality—something previously thought impossible. Eight generations and over two decades of development later, this isn’t just the fastest Tarmac ever—it’s the fastest race bike in the world.
Races aren’t won on aerodynamics or weight alone—it’s all about speed. And achieving that means creating a bike that doesn’t compromise on aero, weight, stiffness, or comfort. Our Ride Science team used real-world race data to simulate performance, revealing the Tarmac SL8 is the fastest road bike ever made on the most important routes: 16.6 seconds faster over 40km, 128 seconds faster at Milan San Remo, and 20 seconds faster on the legendary Tourmalet climb.
Now, the Tarmac SL8 Comp comes equipped with the new SRAM Rival AXS groupset, delivering lower weight, smoother braking, and faster, more precise shifting.

No secret here: the Tarmac SL8 is the world’s fastest road bike thanks to its unmatched blend of aerodynamics, light weight, and ride quality. Can it get even faster? Absolutely. With the new SRAM Force and Rival AXS groupsets—lower weight, smoother braking, and more precise shifting.
100% AERO: We’ve placed aero features where they actually make a difference—not just where they look good. The result? Our most aerodynamic road bike ever. Yes, even more than the Venge. With the new Speed Sniffer nose cone, the Tarmac maximizes clean air flow for maximum advantage. By pushing the head tube back (which sets the steering angle), the leading edge becomes sharper and more aero. Taking advantage of new UCI rules, the Tarmac SL8 uses the narrowest, most aero seatpost we’ve ever made—allowing cleaner air flow behind your legs. Victory tastes even sweeter now, right?
MINIMUM WEIGHT, MAXIMUM AERO: Thanks to lessons learned from the Aethos, the S-Works Tarmac SL8 is UCI minimum compliant while being 100% aero. The frame weighs just 685 grams—15% lighter than the SL7 and lighter than any other World Tour frame*. We used Aethos-inspired shaping to reduce weight on the down tube, seat tube, and rear triangle. The frame supports load so efficiently, we didn’t need extra carbon layers. *Unless you count Kasper Asgreen riding our 585g Aethos frame in a Tour de France stage.
LIGHTNING FAST, LUXURY RIDE: With 33% better stiffness-to-weight ratio than the SL7, the Tarmac SL8 delivers legendary responsiveness, aggressive handling, and championship-proven geometry. It’s stiffer at the pedals, more precise at the bars, and smoother at the saddle, setting a new comfort standard in race bikes. Rider-First Engineering ensures every rider, regardless of size, experiences consistent control and quality. The saddle offers 6% more compliance, floating over rough surfaces with surprising smoothness. Same geometry and 32mm tire clearance as the SL7 for easy adaptation and added versatility.
BEYOND GENDER: There’s more difference between two male riders than between a typical man and woman. Gender alone isn’t sufficient to design a bike. That’s why male/female-specific bikes are a thing of the past. Everyone can benefit from the Tarmac SL8. It’s time to go Beyond Gender.
THE TARMAC SL8 COMP: Delivers high performance with a complete SRAM Rival AXS groupset, DT Swiss DT R470 wheelset, and an integrated Tarmac stem and Specialized Shallow Drop alloy handlebar—accessible and full of features.
